JAMB Registrar, Professor Is-haq Oloyede, revealed this update during a stakeholder meeting on January 28, 2025. He stated that the mock trial will provide early exposure to the Computer-Based Test (CBT) environment, ensuring underage candidates are well-prepared before taking the actual UTME upon reaching the required age.

This move aligns with the Ministry of Education’s decision in 2024 to set the minimum age for UTME and tertiary admissions at 16 years.

Registration and Fees for the 2025 UTME and Mock Trial

JAMB has outlined the registration fees for various categories of the 2025 UTME:

  • UTME without Mock: N7,200
  • UTME with Mock: N8,200
  • Direct Entry Fee: N5,700
  • Trial Testing Mock (for underage students only): N3,500

JAMB clarified that candidates will not be required to pay any additional service charge to any CBT centre.
